And while the movie is filled with music and sweeping visuals, it still carries a PG rating. There’s action throughout, a touch of suggestive material and themes that may come across as intense for younger viewers.
Fans of the stage production will recognize that the story mixes big musical moments with drama and tension, and the film keeps that same energy as it moves forward.
Toya shares two daughters: Reginae Carter with ex-husband Lil’ Wayne and Reign Ryan Rushing with her husband Robert “Red” Rushing.
