In a thrilling moment during Thursday night’s matchup against the Texans in Houston, Ray Davis, the Bills’ dynamic kick returner, celebrated his 26th birthday in spectacular fashion.

As the second quarter neared its end, Davis electrified the crowd with a dazzling 97-yard kickoff return, marking his first touchdown of the season. This impressive feat was highlighted by a skillful spin move at the 30-yard line, allowing him to evade Houston defenders and sprint unchallenged into the end zone.

Davis’s remarkable play temporarily thrust the Bills into the lead, putting them ahead 16-13. However, the joy was short-lived as the Texans managed to reclaim the lead with a score just before halftime.

Prior to this standout performance, Davis had accrued 337 yards from 11 returns in the 2025 season, showcasing his consistent prowess on the field.

Coming into the night, Davis had 11 returns for 337 yards in 2025.

As for the rest of the team, Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a rather quiet first half, throwing for 106 yards with an interception while completing 12-of-16 passes.

Running back James Cook III had the lone touchdown on offense for Buffalo, rushing 45 yards into the end zone early in the first quarter.

The Bills came into the Week 12 matchup with a 7-3 record, sitting in second place in the AFC East behind the Patriots.

Buffalo currently is in an AFC wild-card spot, and the Texans, who held a 5-5 record before Thursday’s matchup, sit just outside, with Houston down both quarterback C.J. Stroud and running back Joe Mixon.

Stroud, 24, has missed three straight games after suffering a concussion in Week 9, with backup quarterback Davis Mills going 2-0 in his absence.

In his first start in nearly three seasons earlier this month, Mills helped head the Texans to a comeback win over the Jaguars, finishing the game with 292 passing yards and two touchdowns.
