Renowned YouTuber MrBeast, born Jimmy Donaldson, is making a comeback on Prime Video with the sophomore season of his competition series, Beast Games.

The streaming platform has unveiled a teaser for the upcoming season, which is slated to launch on January 7. The preview hints at an expansive new city and potentially a fresh concept for the show.

The synopsis for Season 2 promises an experience “bigger, bolder, and more intense than ever.” MrBeast has gathered 100 of the globe’s most formidable competitors alongside 100 of the sharpest minds. Titled “Strong vs. Smart,” these groups will vie for an astonishing $5 million prize. As contestants engage in a thrilling test of intellect and muscle, alliances are destined to form and dissolve. Every challenge is designed to stretch the boundaries of human strength, intelligence, and strategic thinking. The question posed is: what lengths would you go to for $5 million?

The trailer reveals an entirely new set, featuring basketball courts and various arenas where contenders will battle it out for the grand prize.

As reported by Deadline, part of the filming for this season took place in Saudi Arabia.

Beast Games was touted as “the biggest reality competition series ever” before its 2024 debut. The show, which Donaldson hosts himself, promised a $5 million cash prize. But a whopping total of $25 million was awarded to contestants across the first season.

The show received a two-season renewal earlier this year, even after five former contestants filed a lawsuit against Donaldson and Amazon before the premiere claiming the show fostered a hostile work environment that led to sexual harassment and “chronic mistreatment.”

“While participants knew upon signing the contract at the production’s inception that they were facing a potentially long and challenging competition, they allege getting a lot more than they bargained for,” the contestants’ attorney said in a statement at the time.

The statement continued, “Several contestants ending up hospitalized, while others reported suffering physical and mental complications while being subjected to chronic mistreatment, degradation and, for the female contestants, hostile working conditions.”

Donaldson did not directly address the lawsuit, but he did share on X, “We have tons of behind-the-scenes [clips] dropping when the show does, to show how blown out of proportion these claims were. Just can’t release it now because it would spoil the games.”

However, Donaldson seemed hopeful about the future of Beast Games when speaking to Deadline.

“Another 10 seasons could happen,” he said.
