Cardi B has a knack for infusing sentimentality into life’s significant moments.

The 33-year-old rapper recently welcomed her fourth child, a son with Stefon Diggs, on November 4. To commemorate this special event, she transformed her newborn’s umbilical cord into a heart-shaped keepsake. On November 20, Juliane Marie Corona from Mommy Made Encapsulation shared on Instagram how she crafted this unique memento for Cardi.

The process involved cleaning the placenta and shaping the cord into a heart before coating it in gold.

Mommy Made offers placenta encapsulation services for $500, with an additional $50 for creating a personalized keepsake.

Cardi B also knows how to make a grand announcement. The 32-year-old artist unveiled the name of her third child, a daughter with Offset, in a dazzling manner. On November 6, the jewelry brand Elliot Eliantte showcased an opulent stack of diamond bracelets on Instagram, highlighting the name reveal.

“Where her journey started… turned into a keepsake she’ll treasure forever. 🤍,” Corona wrote of creating Cardi’s heart pendant. “The umbilical cord is the very first connection between a mother and her baby — the lifeline that nourished, protected and carried them through every moment of pregnancy.”

She added, “Creating this keepsake is always such an honor, but doing it for Cardi and her sweet baby again means the world to us. 🤍✨. Turning something so meaningful into a piece that can be held, remembered and cherished forever is one of the most special parts of what we do.”

This isn’t the first time Cardi has saved a keepsake from the birth of her children. In October 2024, she had her placenta encapsulated after the birth of her daughter Blossom, whom she welcomed one month prior with ex Offset. (She also shares daughter Kulture, 7, and son Wave, 4, with the “Migos” rapper, 33.)

Amid Cardi’s pregnancy, news broke that Diggs fathered a daughter named Charliee with model Aileen Lopera.

“We can confirm that Mr. Diggs is the father,” Lopera’s lawyer Tamar Arminak told Us Weekly in a statement on November 6. “We are hopeful that he will meaningfully contribute to the child’s life and coparent with our client, who has had to do everything on her own thus far.”

Diggs previously responded to Lopera’s paternity lawsuit and requested joint legal and physical custody if his paternity was proven.

“Starting over is never easy but it’s been so worth it! I brought new music and a new album to the world!
