Rodney Rogers, known for his impactful NBA career, played across several teams, including the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers, over a span of 12 years.

WASHINGTON — Rodney Rogers, who rose to prominence as a star at Wake Forest before enjoying a 12-year tenure in the NBA, has passed away at the age of 54.

Selected as the ninth overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft, Rogers’ life took a dramatic turn after a dirt bike accident in November 2008 left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. The National Basketball Players Association, representing Rogers’ family, announced that he succumbed to natural causes related to his spinal cord injury.

Rogers began his professional journey with the Denver Nuggets and later showcased his talent with the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers.

The news of his passing sent shockwaves through the basketball community, eliciting heartfelt reactions from fans and the teams he once graced with his presence.
