SAVANNAH, Ga. – Following the departure of yesterday’s cold front, which brought with it clouds, breezy weather, and a few scattered showers, high pressure has returned to the region. This shift promises an abundance of sunshine and warmth, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 70s.

As night falls, expect a drop in temperatures to the lower 50s under mostly clear skies. The sunny weather will persist into the start of the workweek, although Monday will see slightly cooler conditions with highs peaking in the lower 70s.

On Tuesday, a warm front is set to arrive, once again raising temperatures to the upper 70s. This change will bring increased cloud cover and the possibility of a few stray showers. A cold front linked to this system is expected to pass through on Wednesday, coinciding with one of the year’s busiest travel days. Although Tuesday’s travel should be untroubled, come Wednesday afternoon and evening, travelers may encounter breezy conditions and a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms. Prior to the front’s arrival, temperatures could soar to the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Fortunately, the front will move out just in time for the holiday. Clouds will begin to clear from Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with overnight lows dropping into the upper 40s. Thanksgiving Day is set to be dry, with morning clouds giving way to sunshine, yet it will be brisk with highs only reaching the mid to upper 60s, which is typical for this time of year.

As Thanksgiving night transitions into Black Friday, temperatures will plummet, reaching lows in the 30s and highs only in the upper 50s to lower 60s on Black Friday. Despite the chill, both days will enjoy plenty of sunshine. Overall, expect a dry and sunny Thanksgiving and Black Friday, with Thanksgiving temperatures near average and Black Friday cooler than usual.
