Donald Glover has recently shed light on a serious health issue that led him to cancel his tour last year. Although he initially referred to his condition as an “ailment,” Glover revealed during a performance that he had, in fact, experienced a stroke.

Performing under the name Childish Gambino, Glover shared this personal revelation while on stage at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles. His candid confession quickly circulated across social media platforms.

Addressing the audience, Glover, who is 42, remarked, “You guys voted for a ‘where have I been monologue.’ I had a really severe headache in Louisiana but went on with the show regardless. My vision was impaired, so upon reaching Houston, I sought medical attention. That’s when the doctor told me, ‘You had a stroke.’”

Expressing a sense of disappointment, Glover mentioned feeling as though he had let people down, adding that he still hasn’t visited Ireland. He also disclosed that doctors discovered a hole in his heart, necessitating two surgeries.

Reflecting on his experiences, Glover shared a poignant insight: “They say everybody has two lives, and the second life starts when you realize you have one. You’ve got one life, guys, and I must say, the life I’ve lived with you all has been such a blessing.”

His representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
