In a bizarre twist of events, a woman who became notorious for a chilling crime committed during her childhood has once again captured the attention of authorities. Morgan Geyser, who was involved in the infamous Slender Man stabbing case, has reportedly fled a group home after removing her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet. Police have confirmed that her last known location was a residential neighborhood in Wisconsin, where she was seen with an adult acquaintance around 8 PM on Saturday.

This startling development comes over a decade after Geyser and Anissa Weier, both 12 years old at the time, orchestrated a gruesome attack on their classmate, Peyton Leutner, in an attempt to gain the favor of Slender Man, a fictional character that had captured the imaginations and fears of many on the internet. The disturbing incident took place in a park in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where Leutner was stabbed 19 times but miraculously survived by crawling to safety, eventually being rescued by a bicyclist.

“Her whereabouts are unknown as of Sunday morning,” Madison Police said in a statement.

Peyton Leutner, who was also 12 when the attack occurred, has since shared her experiences, revealing that the trio had spent a significant amount of time together. Leutner recounted to ABC how Geyser was fixated on Slender Man, a character that had haunted Leutner’s thoughts.

As the search for Geyser continues, the case serves as a haunting reminder of the dark corners of internet folklore and its real-world implications. The authorities remain on high alert as they work to locate Geyser and ensure public safety.

The trio spent a lot of time together, Leutner previously told ABC. Geyser constantly talked about Slender Man, a character that terrified Leutner, she said.

The night of the stabbing, Leutner had gone to Geyser’s home for a slumber party to celebrate her birthday.

At age 15, Geyser pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted first-degree murder in a deal with prosecutors to be placed in a mental institution instead of serving jail time.

In January, a judge ordered she could be released from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, where she spent nearly seven years, The Associated Press reported.

In August, a facility in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, declined to take her due to negative publicity they were receiving about the potential move, according to CNN affiliate WMTV, but Madison police confirmed with the news station Geyser is currently living at a group home in Madison, on the same street where she was last seen.
