Balloons Over Vermilion shifts date, location for 10th anniversary event

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Balloons Over Vermilion festival is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary next summer with a fresh schedule and venue.

In an official announcement, organizers revealed that the 2026 festival will occur a month earlier than its traditional date. The event is slated for June 5 and 6 at a new venue, Kennekuk County Park.

“By moving the festival to June, we aim to offer our community and visitors an additional chance to enjoy family-friendly activities throughout the summer,” stated Carly Goodwin, Festival Co-Chair.
