In a thrilling announcement, AJ Lee has revealed exciting news just ahead of WWE RAW’s next episode. At 38, Lee has shared that she’s diving into a significant new venture outside the wrestling world.

Having transitioned from a celebrated wrestling career, the former three-time WWE Divas Champion has also made waves as a writer. Her memoir, Crazy Is My Superpower, not only captivated readers with its insights into her life and mental health journey but also cemented her reputation in the literary world. Beyond her autobiography, Lee has contributed to several notable projects, including GLOW vs. The Babyface, the Dungeons & Dragons series At the Spine of the World, and the inaugural issue of DC Comics’ Wonder Woman: Black and Gold.

During her appearance on the What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon podcast, AJ Lee shared her passion for anime. The Geek Goddess disclosed that she’s crafting a screenplay for Toei Animation, a cherished studio from her youth known for iconic series like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, and One Piece. While Lee couldn’t reveal further specifics, her enthusiasm for the project was palpable.

On the latest episode of the What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon podcast, AJ Lee stated that she was a huge anime fan. The Geek Goddess revealed that she was writing a movie for one of her favorite animation companies growing up, Toei Animation, which has produced anime such as Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, One Piece, and more. Lee added that she could not disclose any more details.

“I love anime so much. One of my favorite companies growing up was Toei, they did Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z, and these things that raised me. We are writing a movie for Toei Animation. I think that’s all I can say. Just such a dream come true to be in their office and see the Dragon Ball Z figures everywhere. ‘Can I move in here? [laughs],’” Lee said. [H/T: Fightful]

AJ Lee is all set to compete in her first WarGames match

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 airs at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on November 29. AJ Lee will be in action at the premium live event.

Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, the veteran was revealed as the final member of Rhea Ripley’s team for the Women’s WarGames Match. Her archrival, Becky Lynch, also joined forces with the opposing team at the show. It will mark Lee’s first-ever appearance in a WarGames Match.
