Greta Thunberg's Latest Environmental Stunt Will Make You Nauseous

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has once again captured public attention, shifting her focus back to environmental issues. This time, she and her group of activists have made headlines by turning the iconic Grand Canal in Venice a bright green hue to draw attention to environmental concerns.

The activists chose this vivid display to protest the COP30 environmental summit in Brazil, expressing disappointment over what they perceive as insufficient measures by participating nations to address the “climate crisis.”

In response to the stunt, the activists faced a 48-hour ban and a $172 fine. Critics have raised questions about the effectiveness of such penalties, arguing they may not be enough to deter future acts of environmental demonstration.

Thunberg and her fellow activists were having a snit fit over the COP30 environmental summit in Brazil and the failure of attending nations to hurt themselves with arbitrary restrictions due to the “climate crisis”:

Climate activist Greta Thunberg, along with 35 other members of the Extinction Rebellion group, were issued a temporary ban from Venice on Sunday after they dyed the Grand Canal green in protest.

The pouring of the green dye and other stunts performed by the environmental activists were in retaliation to Italy’s opposition to including fossil fuel restrictions in a deal agreed to at the COP30 summit on Friday in Brazil. The actions landed the organizer a 48-hour ban from the city and a $172 fine.

A 48-hour ban and a $172 fine. Are you kidding me? The Italian version of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg must have been behind the case, because his philosophy is, “watch criminals commit crimes, immediately let them go with a slap on the wrist.” And is a 48-hour ban and a little fine going to deter them in the slightest from continuing to perform such destructive acts in the future? Doubt that very much.

The sabotage on one of the most famous and beloved waterways in the world could actually do serious harm:

The vandalism, which risked permanent damage to the beloved UNESCO World Heritage site, was the environmental activist group’s latest stunt protesting climate change, specifically Italy’s opposition to including restrictions on fossil fuels in a deal struck at the COP30 summit in Brazil on Friday.

The group said it also dumped dye into lakes, canals, rivers and fountains in 10 cities around Italy, which it believes somehow will draw attention to what it calls “the massive effects of climate collapse,” the Washington Examiner reported.

We’ve covered numerous instances of “climate activism” where crazies block roadways, throw tomato soup at priceless Van Gogh paintings, glue themselves to the ground, and so much more. Every time, I can’t help but think, what are these low-IQ individuals hoping to get out of it, except for perhaps a little notoriety?

The “punishment” in this case is laughable. Until authorities start treating vandalism with the harshness that it so woefully deserves, we’ll just keep seeing extremists continue to do it. To them, it’s surely worth the $172 fine to see photos of themselves in the newspaper.

What exactly they’re achieving for the environment is another matter, however. In my estimation, the answer is “a fat lot of nothing.”
