Serkan Yumakci has established himself as a notable figure in the world of antiques dealing in the UK. Renowned for his appearances as a dealer on BBC’s “The Bidding Room” and Discovery Quest’s “Salvage Hunters,” he has also featured in “Salvage Hunters: The Restorers,” viewable on Discovery Quest or streamed on Discovery+.

Together with his brother, Cuneyt Yumakci, Serkan runs Rag & Bone Bros, an antique shop located in London. Their business specializes in buying and selling antiques, vintage items, curiosities, and oddities. The duo was spotlighted on Season 20 of “Salvage Hunters” on Quest and gained further recognition in the 2025 edition of “Country Living Vintage Home.”

The Yumakci brothers source their eclectic collection of antiques and vintage items from various parts of the globe, with a particular focus on Germany and Eastern Europe.

“We’ve traveled extensively, visiting countries like Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Our adventures even took us to Kiev, Ukraine,” Serkan shared in an interview with MyLondon. “Initially, we tried exploring the French market, but it was challenging to break into. We found it much more straightforward to establish connections and communicate with dealers in Germany.”

“Our efforts resulted in acquiring some beautifully ornate communist-era lights from East Germany, along with unique clocks from the historical Trabant factory,” Serkan added.

“Surprisingly, the Romani dealers in Hungary turned out to be a real asset to us, even though in a business-sense they are known to be quite shrewd. We recently bought some old communist propaganda posters from them.

“We sleep in the back of the van until it’s full. Only then do we start looking at hotels. Wherever we go, we look for something we can buy and sell. It’s an instinct.”
