TBI identifies man killed in Carter County officer-involved shooting

A tragic officer-involved shooting has resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man in Elizabethton, Tennessee, according to WJHL reports. The incident occurred on November 22 in Carter County.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has confirmed the identity of the deceased as James Owen Reynolds.

The events unfolded around 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday when deputies from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched following a report of vandalism at a residence located in the 100 block of Jarrett-Buck Loop.
