(NewsNation) — An agreement between Ukraine and the United States has been reached to bring an end to the ongoing four-year conflict with Russia, a U.S. official confirmed to NewsNation on Tuesday morning. Although some specifics still need to be ironed out, progress has been made.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to travel to Washington, D.C., to conclude the agreement at the “earliest suitable date” this month, according to Ukrainian national security adviser Rustem Umerov.

“Our teams have come to a shared understanding on the fundamental terms of the agreement during discussions in Geneva,” Umerov shared via social media.
