A chilling development has emerged in the tragic case of a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s north-west. Authorities have charged a second 15-year-old boy with murder following the incident that claimed the life of an older teenager.

On a somber Monday afternoon, emergency services swiftly responded to Bruce Purser Reserve in Rouse Hill. They discovered a 17-year-old boy suffering from a critical stab wound to his leg. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the young man’s injuries proved fatal, and he tragically passed away at the scene on Caballo Street.

Amidst the unfolding tragedy, one of the 15-year-old suspects, who remains unnamed due to legal restrictions, voluntarily came forward. Accompanied by his parents, he presented himself at a police station on Monday night, leading to his arrest on charges of murder.

About 9.45pm on Tuesday, police searched a home in Rouse Hill and arrested a second 15-year-old boy, who was also charged with murder.

Speaking to media on Monday night, Superintendent Naomi Moore said there didn’t appear to be any links to nearby Rouse Hill High School.

She called the event a “senseless” tragedy.

“It’s a tragic situation. I have 17-year-olds at home, this has impacted the core of the community,” she said.

“It is, I have no other words but it’s just tragedy and it’s senseless.”

The second 15-year-old is due to face a Sydney children’s court on Wednesday. The first boy to be charged is scheduled to return to court on January 23.
