This week, tennis icon Serena Williams delighted her followers by sharing a heartwarming moment with her daughter, Adira River Ohanian.

On Monday, Williams posted a series of captivating photos on Instagram, showcasing her 2-year-old daughter taking her first swings on the tennis court.

The adorable images captured the young Adira holding a miniature racket, clearly inspired by her mother’s legendary form and style.

“This is me sharing my passion for tennis with my youngest daughter,” Serena wrote in the caption.

The endearing photos quickly captured the hearts of fans, who flooded the comments with admiration. Many described the moment as “precious,” with some suggesting that Adira might one day follow in her mother’s illustrious footsteps.

“So sweet!!! The champ and mini champ!” One person said

Another added, “This is me saying how precious this truly is. You are an amazing mommy in addition to your endless list of amazing qualities. Love you so much!”

Yet another said, “I think she is the one to carry on that tennis greatness and create her own legacy.”

Serena and husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed Adira in August 2023. They’re also parents to daughter Olympia, who has already had plenty of her own fun tennis moments with her mom over the years.

However, Williams has previously said that her oldest daughter isn’t exactly a fan of the sport.

“That’s a little disappointing for me, but she’s actually really good at it,” she told host Norah O’Donnell of CBS News’ Person to Person in 2023.

“So we are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit. Maybe I can push her into tennis by getting other kids to have a group lesson, I think that’s what I’m gonna do,” she added.

Serena stepped away from tennis in 2022, explaining that she wanted to devote more time to her family.

“It comes to a point where women sometimes have to make different choices than men, if they want to raise a family,” Serena said in a Times interview at the time. “It’s just black and white. You make a choice or you don’t.”
