LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. — Officials have confirmed the arrest of a Liberty County commissioner on Sunday morning, who now faces charges of obstruction.
Assistant Chief Terranova Smith of the Hinesville Police Department reported that officers responded to the Huta Dispensary and Lounge on West General Screven Way due to concerns of overcrowding.
Authorities conducted a headcount and discovered that the venue exceeded its maximum occupancy limit of 25 people. District 2 Commissioner Justin Frasier, who owns the establishment, was informed of the violation and told that he would receive citations.
Before citations could be issued, Frasier allegedly impeded the officers by refusing to leave the premises. He also locked the doors, preventing the officers from gaining entry.
As a result, Frasier was arrested and now faces charges of obstruction, alongside the overcrowding violation.
Frasier was transported to the Liberty County Jail where he subsequently bonded out pending his court date.
