Jacob Brady, aged 28, pleaded guilty on Monday to charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence related to the shooting at Pat’s Bar in Dayton, Ohio, which occurred in the early hours of June 22. As part of his plea agreement, two firearms-related charges were dropped. Brady had shot a 23-year-old man during the incident, as previously detailed by Law&Crime.

Authorities reported that while Brady was held in jail, he was heard bragging about the shooting, proclaiming, “I’m gonna put that on a T-shirt — ‘BLAM, that boy down.’”

Court records reveal that the confrontation arose from a romantic rivalry. The victim was with a woman in whom Brady showed interest, although witnesses reported that she had no interest in him.

According to court documents, the altercation started over a romantic rivalry between Brady and his victim. The victim was with a woman whom Brady was interested in, but witnesses told police that she wanted nothing to do with Brady.

Brady claimed that the other man was threatening him, which police said was not supported by witnesses who were at the bar before the shooting. Police were able to obtain surveillance video from inside the bar, which corroborated the witnesses’ account of events. Brady was seen on that video firing at the victim, who took a ride-share to the hospital. He survived his injuries.

After Brady was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, inmates told police that they overheard him “laughing” about the incident and bragging, “I’m gonna put that on a T-shirt — ‘BLAM, that boy down.’”

Brady is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8.
