Detectives are resuming a renewed search for missing Victorian mum Samantha Murphy in bushland west of Melbourne.

Yesterday, police initiated a thorough search of the dense bushland at Enfield State Park, located approximately 25 kilometers south of Ballarat, as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance of a mother of three.

The search efforts are set to continue today in the park, situated just 5 kilometers from the dam where the 51-year-old woman’s phone was discovered in May of last year.

The public is being urged to avoid the search area to allow police to conduct their investigation without interruption.

Authorities have disclosed that new intelligence has spurred this renewed search, although they have not disclosed the source of this information.

As of now, it remains uncertain if any additional evidence has been uncovered.

Samantha Murphy disappeared after leaving her home on Eureka Street, Ballarat, to go for a run on February 4 last year.

Police have probed bushland at Enfield State Park, which is about half an hour from the Murphy home, multiple times since Samantha’s disappearance.

Patrick Orren Stephenson, 23, has been charged with her murder.

He has pleaded not guilty ahead of his Supreme Court trial in April next year.
