An unfortunate incident occurred at Brentwood Park Primary School on Bemersyde Drive in Berwick, where an eight-year-old boy was stabbed on the school premises around 9 a.m.
Emergency responders, including Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics, quickly attended to the young boy. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening and he did not need to be hospitalized.
In addition to the boy, two other individuals received medical attention on-site, among them a female staff member who suffered minor injuries.
Following the incident, authorities engaged with an 11-year-old boy, who has since been taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Brentwood Park Primary School and nearby Kambrya College were temporarily placed into lockdown.
“The school enacted its safety procedures, and police and paramedics attended the school,” a Department of Education spokesperson said.
“We are supporting both the staff member and the student and are providing additional wellbeing supports to those who need it.”
The department said the school resumed classes shortly after the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
