One hospitalized in garage fire with 75-foot flames in Clinton

A dramatic scene unfolded in Clinton, Illinois, on Wednesday morning when a fire broke out, sending flames soaring up to 75 feet high and resulting in one person being hospitalized.

The Clinton Fire Department, in a statement on Facebook, shared that they were alerted to the blaze at 10:30 a.m. Firefighters, along with first-alarm auto aid units, rushed to the intersection of Main and Wilson Streets after reports surfaced about a detached garage being ablaze. As they departed the station, heavy, dark smoke was already visible in the distance, reported by Engine Company 2.
