“Sharing this was never what I envisioned when expecting the twins,” expressed Tineke “Tini” Younger in a heartfelt message.
Tini Younger, a well-loved TikTok culinary influencer, announced a tragic loss on Wednesday following a placental abruption earlier in the week. She shared that one of her twin daughters had passed away.
In a poignant Instagram update on November 26, the 24-year-old disclosed that her daughter Arya, known as Baby A, had died just before she reached 36 weeks of gestation.
“This isn’t the post I ever thought I would share once the twins came,” Younger wrote. She recounted the heartbreaking event of losing Arya due to the unforeseen complication, despite being nearly full term.
The other twin was delivered safely and is currently breathing without assistance, Younger assured her followers. However, she chose to keep her second daughter’s name private for now.
Placental abruption occurs when the placenta detaches from the uterine wall before delivery, potentially reducing oxygen and nutrients to the fetus. The condition affects approximately 1% of pregnancies and can lead to serious complications, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Younger, who has amassed 12 million TikTok followers through her cooking content and viral recipe videos, competed on season 2 of Gordon Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef.”
The influencer married Antoine Wright Jr. in November 2024 and announced their twin pregnancy in June. The couple revealed they were expecting twin girls during a July gender reveal celebration.
“They both are so beautiful and Arya will always be celebrated,” Younger wrote. “Her sister will know she is a twin and has a beautiful twin sister.”
Younger said she will be taking a break from social media to grieve.Â
