As the holiday season approaches, the likelihood of home burglaries tends to rise. In response, the Rantoul Police Department is taking proactive measures to bolster community safety during this festive period.

The department offers a Vacation Watch program, a thoughtful initiative designed to provide peace of mind to residents planning to be away from home. To participate, residents simply need to visit the police station and register for the program.

Once enrolled, the police commit to regularly monitoring the registered homes. While they will refrain from entering the properties, they promise to alert homeowners if they notice anything unusual or suspicious.
