SAVANNAH, Ga. — This week, Georgia’s football scene is buzzing with anticipation and excitement as the state’s premier teams gear up for pivotal matchups. The Georgia Bulldogs, boasting a 10-1 record, prepare to challenge the 9-2 Georgia Tech, while the Georgia Southern Eagles aim to bounce back to a .500 record after a disappointing defeat by Old Dominion. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons set their sights on a northern journey to confront a fellow struggling team.

Here’s a comprehensive look at the football action unfolding across Georgia.

#4 Georgia Bulldogs Triumph Over Charlotte — Riding a wave of momentum, the Georgia Bulldogs have extended their winning streak to seven games with a decisive 35-3 victory against the Charlotte 49ers. The Bulldogs displayed their dominance through a powerful ground game, effectively securing their position as a force to be reckoned with.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton had a solid performance, completing 17 of 21 passes for 196 yards, though he did suffer one interception. Additionally, Stockton contributed to the ground game with five carries, accumulating 11 yards.

The Bulldogs’ offensive prowess was primarily fueled by the dynamic running back duo of Nate Frazier and Bo Walker. Frazier made his mark with 54 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while Walker demonstrated efficiency, gaining 48 yards and scoring three touchdowns on just nine carries.

The Bulldogs won’t have to travel far as they head into Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

Georgia Southern vs Old Dominion – The Eagles struggled to get anything going on the road as they fall to the Old Dominion Monarchs 45-10.

Georgia Southern’s only score came from QB Turner Helton, who was 9 of 16 on the day for 49 yards. QB JC French IV went 16 of 24 for 147 yards and one interception.

The Eagles ground game struggled as they only produced 49 rushing yards on 19 carries, averaging 2.57 yards per carry for the game.

Georgia Southern will look to end its season on a high note as they head out on the road to take on 5-6 Marshall in Huntington. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 1:30 on ESPN+.

#16 Georgia Tech vs Pittsburgh Panthers – A 21-0 scoreless first quarter proved to be too much to overcome as the Yellow Jackets fall to Pitt 42-28. Georgia Tech is now 9-2 on the season.

QB Haynes King was 27 of 41 for 257 yards and two touchdowns. King also had two interceptions on the day. The senior playcaller continued to attack on the ground as well, finishing with 20 carries for 76 yards and one rushing touchdown.

Georgia Tech’s other score came via RB Jamal Haynes. The senior RB had 10 carries for 39 yards to go along with one rushing touchdown.

The Yellow Jackets will stay home this week as they take on Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.

Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints – The Falcons win killed two birds with one stone this past Sunday. The team not only added another win to the record but earned an NFC South division win over New Orleans.
