Trump's blistering insult to reporter who questioned his MRI results

Donald Trump sharply criticized a reporter who inquired about the president’s recent MRI results, delivering a pointed retort.

Upon returning to the White House with Melania on Air Force One Sunday evening, Trump addressed questions regarding the MRI he underwent last month. This discussion followed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s call for the public release of the results.

When journalists asked Trump his thoughts on Walz’s demand for greater transparency, Trump responded with characteristic bravado.

“They were perfect, just like my phone call that led to my impeachment. Absolutely perfect. If you want it released, I’ll release it,” Trump declared.

The president was alluding to his 2019 phone conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky, which was at the center of his first impeachment proceedings.

Trump was then questioned by CBS News’ Weija Jiang what part of the body the MRI was looking at when he took a shot at her.

‘I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it. I got a perfect mark which you would be incapable of doing,’ he said, pointing straight at Jiang.

He then said ‘goodbye everybody’ to the media scrum before pointing at a second female reporter and saying ‘you too.’

Kamala Harris’ former running mate has rallied for the MRI’s results after Trump called Walz ‘seriously retarded’ on social media last week.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said in late October that the president received ‘advanced imaging’ at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center ‘as part of his routine physical examination’ and that the results showed Trump remains in ‘exceptional physical health.’

She did not specify what part of Trump’s body was imaged in the scan.

Leavitt had initially promised the press to provide more information regarding the MRI when she knew it.

In mid-November, Leavitt was asked about it again and said she was ‘glad’ for the question but didn’t answer it.

Trump’s recent clash with Walz has ramped up after the president called Walz ‘a retard’ on Thanksgiving night.

During the press conference, Trump was also asked if he stands by the insult with a reporter claiming ‘many Americans’ find the word offensive.

‘Absolutely. You have a problem with it? You know what? I think there’s something wrong with him,’ Trump said of Walz.

The president also reiterated his rage at the governor for allegedly letting hundreds of thousands of Somalian migrants to ‘prey’ on innocent people in his state.

‘Anybody that would do what he did, anybody that would allow those people into a state and pay billions out to Somalia… there’s something wrong with Walz.’

Trump made the initial insult in a rant against several of his Democrat enemies in the state.

‘The seriously retarded Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both.’

Walz responded to Trump’s insults by questioning the state of the president’s health.

‘Release the MRI results,’ Walz wrote on X.

During an interview with Kristen Welker on Meet the Press, Walz claimed Trump is ‘fading physically’.

‘I think what’s most concerning about this is… has anyone in the history of the world ever had an MRI assigned to them and had no idea what it was for, as he says?

‘Well, here we’ve got a guy on Thanksgiving, where we spent time with our families, we ate, we played Yahtzee, we cheered for football or whatever. This guy is apparently in a room ranting about everything else.’

Walz claimed: ‘This is not normal behavior. It’s not healthy.’

But Sunday night’s remark wasn’t the first time the president admonished journalists covering his administration and it’s the second time in a week he’s tangled with a reporter for CBS.

On Thursday, he asked the network’s chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes, 51, whether she was a ‘stupid person’ as she questioned the federal government’s vetting of the Afghan suspect accused of shooting two National Guard members in Washington DC the day before.

Cordes calmly noted that federal officials had said the suspect ‘worked very closely with the CIA in Afghanistan for years, that he was vetted and the vetting came up clean’.

Trump immediately lashed back.

‘He went cuckoo. I mean, he went nuts,’ Trump said.

‘It happens too often with these people. You see them. But look, this is how they come in, they’re standing on top of each other. That’s an airplane. There was no vetting or anything. They came in unvetted and we have a lot of others in this country and we’re going to get them out.’

Still, Cordes pushed, citing federal watchdog findings.

Nancy Cordes, CBS News chief White House correspondent pressed Trump on how the alleged DC shooter was able to enter the US

‘Actually, your DOJ IG [United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General] just reported this year that there was thorough vetting by DHS and by the FBI of these Afghans who were brought into the US, so why do you blame the Biden administration for what this man did?’

Trump’s response devolved into a stingingly personal attack as he laid into Cordes, who was educated at Princeton University.

‘Because they let them in. Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?’ he fired back.

‘Because they came in on a plane along with thousands of other people that shouldn’t be here and you’re just asking questions because you’re a stupid person,’ he continued before launching into a broad condemnation of the Afghanistan withdrawal and immigration law.

‘And there’s a law passed that it’s almost impossible to get them out. You can’t get them out once they come in, and they came in and they were unvetted, they were unchecked, there were many of them, and they came in on big planes and it was disgraceful,’ Trump said.

‘The whole Afghanistan situation was a mess. It should’ve never taken place… we would’ve left from Bagram, and we would’ve kept Bagram by the way.’

Trump also slammed a female New York Times reporter for being ‘ugly’ last week after dredging up ‘creepy’ health rumors about him.

Katie Rogers co-wrote a piece about how Trump, 79, has scaled back his public appearances in his second term compared to his first stint in the White House.

The article claimed that the President’s attempts to project ’round-the-clock energy, virility and physical stamina’ were becoming difficult for him to maintain as he ages.

‘The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,’ Trump told his followers on Truth Social on Wednesday morning. ‘Radical Left Lunatics in the soon to fold New York Times did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite.’

‘They know this is wrong, as is almost every thing that they write about me, including election results, ALL PURPOSELY NEGATIVE. This cheap “RAG” is truly an “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.”

‘The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third-rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.’

Then, earlier this month Trump told Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey to be ‘quiet, piggy’ after she asked about the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

At the time, the President was being quizzed by journalists on Air Force One.

Lucey appeared to ask Trump a question relating to Epstein before the President began waving a finger in her face.

‘Quiet, quiet piggy!’ Trump snapped at the journalist while she stood off camera.

The President later lashed out at her again, days later, in another heated exchange.

While speaking to the press outside Air Force One, Trump began responding to a question from Lucey regarding Tucker Carlson’s interview with white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

The President was then interrupted by the journalist, leading to a sudden outburst: ‘Will you let me finish my statement?

‘You are the worst! You’re with Bloomberg, right? You are the worst! I don’t know why they even have you.

And in October, Trump made a point of shutting down an ABC News reporter just days after George Stephanopoulos abruptly cut off JD Vance during a heated interview

The President was taking questions from reporters following a meeting with Argentinian President Javier Milei when he snubbed the broadcaster, offering a blunt explanation for his decision.

‘You’re ABC fake news,’ Trump said as a reporter tried to ask him a question.

‘I don’t take questions from ABC fake news after what you did with Stephanopoulos to the Vice President of the United States, I don’t take questions from ABC fake news,’ he declared.
