A Minnesota man has been found guilty of orchestrating the murder of a real estate agent by luring her to her death.

Lyndon Akeem Wiggins, aged 40, faced conviction in November on several charges, including aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated murder in the tragic 2019 case of 28-year-old Monique Baugh. This information was released in a statement from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Wiggins was initially convicted of the crime in 2021. However, the Minnesota Supreme Court overturned this decision in 2024, citing that the jury received improper instructions. As a result, Wiggins faced a retrial this year.

According to court documents reported by CBS News, Wiggins and his partner, Elsa Segura, allegedly set up a fake property showing in the Minneapolis suburb of Maple Grove on December 31, 2019.

Monique Baugh arrived at the location around 3 p.m. in her BMW, as detailed in a police report obtained by Oxygen. Shortly thereafter, surveillance footage from a neighbor’s camera showed a U-Haul truck backing into the driveway. Two unidentified individuals exited the vehicle, entered the home, and forcibly placed Baugh into the back of the truck.

Baugh arrived at the home around 3 p.m. in her BMW, per a police report previously obtained by Oxygen. Not long after, a neighbor’s surveillance footage captured a U-Haul backing into the driveway. Two unidentified people got out, entered the house and forced Baugh into the back of the truck.

The U-Haul was taken to the home of Baugh’s rapper boyfriend, who was previously identified by prosecutors as Jon Mitchell-Momoh. There, a masked gunman used Baugh’s key to enter and fired several shots at the rapper, who fled upstairs in an attempt to protect his two young children, according to the police records.

The children were unharmed and Mitchell-Momoh survived his injuries.

Baugh was later discovered in a back alley with her hands bound in tape. She’d been shot three times, including once to the face at point blank range, authorities said.

Acording to their records, police later recovered the U-Haul allegedly used in the murder and found zip ties and four pink press-on fingernails in the back of the truck.

After the shooting, Mitchell-Momoh identified Wiggins as a possible suspect in the shooting, CBS News reported.

Who Killed Monique Baugh?

Along with Wiggins, Cedric Berry, Berry Davis and Segura were all convicted in connection to the crime.

Berry and Davis were found guilty in June of 2021 of aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated murder, aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated attempted murder, aiding and abetting kidnapping and aiding and abetting first-degree murder while committing kidnapping, prosecutors said. They were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Segura pleaded guilty in 2024 to kidnapping to commit great bodily harm and was sentenced to 240 months—20 years—behind bars.

Wiggins was found guilty for a second time in November of aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated murder, aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated attempted murder, aiding and abetting kidnapping to commit great bodily harm and aiding and abetting first-degree murder while committing the crime of kidnapping.

“Monique Baugh’s family has waited nearly six years for the cases against all defendants to conclude,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said after the verdict. “Mr. Wiggins played a primary role in Monique’s death, and he is being held accountable. My thoughts are with Monique’s family, and I want to express my gratitude to the jury for their service and to our trial team for securing this conviction.”

Baugh’s coworkers previously described her as a “driven” realtor and “loving mother who always put her children first.”

“Our entire team is devastated by Monique’s death,” Kris Lindahl, Baugh’s employer, told Oxygen in 2020. “We are grateful for the outpouring of support from the community and are focusing on remembering what an amazing person Monique was and helping her children.”
