A man from Texas has turned himself in after a prolonged standoff in his residence.

Bobby Rocha, aged 52, was apprehended on Sunday following a tense encounter lasting several hours with law enforcement in San Antonio. As detailed in an arrest affidavit acquired by KSAT, a local ABC affiliate, Rocha’s roommate reported that Rocha brandished a firearm after the roommate inadvertently allowed Rocha’s pets to escape. The roommate claimed Rocha threatened to “dismember him and feed him to the cat.”

The tense situation unfolded on Saturday afternoon when the police were alerted by Rocha’s roommate. The affidavit reveals that the roommate, who has known Rocha since they were children, accidentally released Rocha’s dog and cat. This incident reportedly angered Rocha, prompting the roommate to leave in search of the missing animals.

Upon returning without the pets, the roommate informed officers that Rocha became furious and allegedly aimed a gun at him. The affidavit further states that Rocha threatened to make the roommate vanish, reiterating his intent to “dismember him and feed him to the cat.”

At this juncture, the roommate decided to pack his belongings and contacted 911 before exiting the premises. When authorities arrived at Rocha’s residence, attempts to communicate with him were unsuccessful. Rocha allegedly conveyed to the officers his readiness to “die inside the house.”

According to local CBS affiliate KENS, Rocha allegedly held police in a standoff for around seven hours before he finally surrendered on Sunday. He came out with his hands raised and was taken into custody without incident.

Rocha was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and obstruction or retaliation. He remains in custody at the Bexar County Jail, where he is being held on $40,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2026.
