A pastor from the Celestial Church has ignited a firestorm of reactions on social media after openly criticizing some of Nigeria’s most prominent religious leaders. His remarks targeted figures like Pastor E.A. Adeboye and Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, questioning their silence in the face of Nigeria’s increasing insecurity issues.
The pastor voiced his dissatisfaction over the ongoing threats posed by bandits and the Boko Haram insurgency, expressing concern that many influential pastors are not speaking out. As the nation grapples with these dangers, he argued that citizens feel neglected by those they look up to for guidance and protection.
In a video that has gained significant traction online, shared by @ChuksEricE on X (formerly known as Twitter), the pastor delivered a pointed message:
“Baba Adeboye, if bandits had kidnapped your child or your wife, you would have acted. Even Kumuyi, if one of your children had been abducted, you would have done something about it.”
The pastor’s call to action urged these influential leaders to leverage their platforms to demand accountability from authorities and advocate for the everyday Nigerians who are subjected to kidnappings and attacks on a regular basis.
The pastor also criticized officials within CAN, accusing some of being too close to the government and failing to defend ordinary Nigerians.
The video has sparked heated debate on social media, with many Nigerians agreeing that spiritual leaders must do more than pray, and demand government action and advocate for the safety of their followers.
