Salley Carson has addressed the controversy sparked by Taylor Ann Green’s bold claims of an alleged secret affair with a married doctor, which was supposedly concealed during the latest season of Southern Charm. In a candid explanation, Taylor detailed her reasons for going public with the accusations, branding Salley as a “desperate newcomer.”

The drama unfolded last week when Taylor hit back at a fan who drew parallels between her and Salley, a figure she had clashed with during the previous season. Taylor insinuated that Salley had engaged in an affair with a married doctor, asserting that Salley maintained a secret relationship throughout filming. This accusation was made even as Salley was allegedly pursuing connections with fellow cast members Austen Kroll and Craig Conover.
In response to the swirling speculations, Salley took to Instagram on December 1 to address the uproar surrounding her personal life. She expressed disbelief over the confidence with which strangers assert “facts” about events they haven’t experienced and people they don’t truly know. “Let me just say, the rumors circulating online about my personal life are completely false,” Salley declared, aiming to set the record straight amidst the ongoing gossip.
In a December 1 Instagram post, Salley addressed the recent “rumors.”
“Wild how strangers can confidently state ‘facts’ about situations they’ve never been in and people they don’t actually know,” she wrote. “Let me just say, the rumors circulating online about my personal life are completely false.”
“The only doctor I’ve ever been involved with was my ex fiancé and he was well out of his marriage when I met him,” she continued. “Secondly, I did not have a boyfriend while filming this season. Thirdly, the person making these accusations needs to shut their mouth before I open my mine.”

Hours later, Taylor wrote a post of her own.
“If people are going to continue to tag or send me posts comparing me to someone, yeah I’m going to have something to say,” said Taylor on Instagram. “I’ve taken a lot of heat being compared to people in the past and never said anything about it; but I draw the line with this one. I stepped away from the show for a reason and considering everything I went through, during and after I had already admitted to my mistakes, I am extremely proud of how far I’ve come and I will not stand for this type of comparison.”
“I am no longer involved with southern charm, I left in good standing and am doing my best to continue to grow and focus on my life, happiness, and new business,” the alum added. “So yes, please stop tagging me and comparing me to a desperate newcomer.”
