A disturbing incident unfolded near the Los Angeles Convention Center, where a dog walker was brutally sexually assaulted by a homeless man. The shocking attack, captured on surveillance video, remains unresolved as the suspect has yet to be apprehended.
The victim, known only as Terra, was with her small dog at the entrance of a downtown high-rise when the attack occurred, according to KTLA. The footage shows a man in a black hoodie suddenly lunging at her, pinning her against a glass door while straddling her leg.
“He grabbed the back of my neck and my crotch area, and I was screaming for help,” Terra recounted in an interview with the network.
Terra described the assailant as silent, communicating only through noises rather than words.
The surveillance video, timestamped at 6:23 a.m. on November 8, captures Terra briefly breaking free from the man’s grip before the pair moves out of the camera’s range. The search for the attacker continues as authorities investigate the incident.
The dog is still in the frame.
Terra said the attacker then threw her to the ground.
“That’s when he hit me,” Terra said.
A male bystander heard her screams for help and pounced on the homeless attacker.
“He was on top of the guy and just hitting him in the head over and over,” she said.
The assailant then fled.
“It’s scary to think he’s still out there,” said Terra.
By the time the police arrived, the homeless man was long gone.
Terra said she now carries Mace and a stun gun when she goes out.
“I’m constantly looking over my shoulder. Before I knew it, he grabbed me and I was not able to get away,” she said. “I hope it never happens to anyone.”
The case is being investigated by police as sexual battery and detectives believe the attacker is homeless.
