Gregory Connor holds the pivotal role of Assistant District Attorney within the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, where he has been a steadfast presence since 2002. His journey began in the district court as a prosecutor, and over the years, he has ascended through the ranks, taking on significant responsibilities. From leading prosecutions in motor vehicle homicide cases to spearheading efforts as the chief of white-collar crime, Connor now stands as the District Attorney’s chief trial counsel.
In his capacity as chief trial counsel, Connor is at the forefront of tackling some of Norfolk County’s most challenging legal battles. His expertise is brought to bear in superior court cases, where defendants are often charged with grave offenses that carry the weight of longer sentences.
Connor elaborated on his multifaceted role to The Patriot Ledger, stating, “I’m kind of an advisor to the lawyers in the office on how to charge a case, formulate a disposition on a case, or come up with a trial strategy for the case. In addition, it requires of me to try some of the more complicated cases in the office.” He further explained his approach to developing strategic blueprints for complex cases, ensuring that the office is well-prepared for similar future challenges.
An alumnus of Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Connor pursued higher education at Boston College, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Political Science and English in 1997. Three years later, he completed his J.D. at Boston College Law School. His career choice was heavily influenced by his father, who was a lawyer, retired judge, and former prosecutor, alongside a deep-seated commitment to public service.
Beyond his legal duties, Connor dedicates time to volunteerism, contributing to the Brookview House, a nonprofit homeless shelter in Boston. His community involvement extends to his past service at the Greater Quincy Childcare Center, where he held the position of President of the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2015, and served as a Board Member from 2007 to 2016.
