Authorities in Ohio are continuing their search for an elderly man who disappeared late last month.
According to WTVG, Dr. Cletus Iwuagwu, aged 71, was last seen by his family at his office on November 24. Although Iwuagwu’s daughter received location updates from his phone, police were unable to locate him at any of those places.
Dr. Iwuagwu, who is a geriatrician, had been discharged from the hospital shortly before he went missing. While his phone remains unfound, law enforcement has been concentrating their search in the areas of Holland and Springfield Townships, as the device last pinged a cell tower there, WTOL reports.
In an effort to find him, WTOL noted that authorities used an underwater drone and sonar equipment to scan a lake near Iwuagwu’s residence. The equipment picked up something unusual, which turned out to be a lawn chair.
Lieutenant John Leach from the Lucas County police mentioned that home security footage recorded Iwuagwu standing on his porch around 2 a.m. He appeared to be wearing a hoodie, though its color was indeterminate due to the early hour.
WTOL reported that there is no indication Iwuagwu has left the area, and police are following up on leads that he was seen walking around. Police noted that the missing doctor’s car was left at the home and that he did not leave behind a note.
Iwuagwu was described as standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts should call the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office at 419-255-8443.
