Reality TV has introduced us to many memorable personalities, and one of the most talked-about figures in recent times is Whitney Leavitt. Known for stirring up drama on the first two seasons of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Whitney has become a recognizable name among the influencer community. Her latest venture saw her stepping onto the stage of Dancing With The Stars.
Despite her background in contemporary dance, the coveted trophy went to Robert Irwin this season. Yet, Whitney’s indomitable spirit shone through as she quickly pivoted to her next exciting endeavor—her debut on Broadway.
Earlier this week, Whitney took to her personal Instagram account to share her thrilling news: she will be joining the cast of the renowned musical Chicago. She is set to portray the iconic character Roxie Hart, with her performances scheduled at New York City’s Ambassador Theater from early February to mid-March.
Whitney Is Joining Chicago On Broadway
Whitney announced on her personal Instagram earlier this week that she’s going to be joining the upcoming cast of the musical Chicago. She’ll be taking on the iconic role of Roxie Hart, and her run at the Ambassador Theater in New York City is set to run from early February through mid-March.
The influencer posted a teaser of herself in costume, sharing a short clip of her snapping her fingers before whipping around to face the camera. In her caption, she shared the exciting update with fans:
Grateful beyond words to ANNOUNCE that I will be joining @chicagomusical in the iconic role of Roxie Hart 💕 beginning Feb.2nd 2026! See you in New York City! #chicagoonbroadway
Whitney got lots of praise in her comments section for the big news. Another reality TV star, Ariana Maddix, who also previously did a stint in the musical, responded with several of the hand clapping emojis.
Danielle Fischel, Whitney’s DWTS castmate, also posted some words of excitement. “Yessss we cannot wait! I stan!!!” she wrote.
This Could Be Whitney’s DWTS Redemption
Those who followed Season 34 of DWTS will know that, while Whitney was widely considered one of the strongest dancers among the celebrity cast, the votes she and partner Mark received often didn’t reflect it. Sadly, Whitney was eliminated shortly before she would’ve advanced to the finals, cutting her time in the competition short.
In addressing rumors that fans were deliberately choosing not to vote for her, Whitney spoke with podcaster Alix Earle about the matter. She explained that she’d grown so used to online criticism that she was surprised she’d lasted as long as she did in the competition:
I am used to the hate. And so with Season 1 and Season 2 of Secret Lives and Mormon Wives being out, like, I just didn’t think I was going to make it that far in Dancing with the Stars because I already knew the persona that I had in the media. So I didn’t think people were going to really vote for me.
It seems like Whitney may have had her sights on the musical for some time now. During the DWTS season, she and Mark actually performed a number from it, doing a tango routine to the classic song “Cell Block Tango.” While Whitney has yet to confirm whether this is the case, it’s possible the song choice was an Easter egg about the next step in her career.
For now, Whitney can be seen in Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Hulu.
