The internet was abuzz with reactions to an unusual sight: California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s peculiar sitting posture. During his appearance at the New York Times Dealbook Summit, Newsom grabbed attention not for his words, but for his unusually extreme cross-legged sitting style. Social media users were quick to point out the position’s potential discomfort, humorously labeling it as “testicle-crushing” and more.

This all unfolded on Wednesday when images of Newsom at the event began circulating on X, capturing the governor seated in a manner that took the traditional cross-legged position to an unexpected level. Instead of the usual, relaxed cross, Newsom’s legs were contorted into an X shape, sparking a flurry of comments and jokes.

For many, it seemed that Newsom, often criticized for his governance of California, had taken a moment away from his political duties to, quite literally, tie himself in knots.

As you would expect, social media blew up over how Newsom handles his package area.

“I wish Gavin Newsom was as angry about high gas prices and homelessness, as he clearly is at his testicles,” one person wrote.





Another wrote, “Not trying to brag, but if I ever sat like Gavin Newsom, my balls would explode.”

A third added, “I have never seen a man crush his testicles harder than this dude.”

While a fourth continued, “Lmao. Never trust anyone that sits like that.”

Comedian Adam Carolla won the internet with his post comparing Newsom’s sitting posture to President Donald Trump’s well-known knees-wide manspread.

Language Warning:

“The real Trump ballroom is the room he gives his balls in comparison to the leg-crossing p*****s like Newsom and Obama,” Carolla wrote.
