ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A Walt Disney World employee faces charges after allegedly stealing a guest’s checkbook and cashing nearly $1,300 in fraudulent checks, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, a visitor from Ohio, informed authorities that she had left her vehicle with the valet service at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village, on Saturday. A few days later, she began receiving alerts from her bank about unauthorized withdrawals, prompting concern.

According to investigators, the first alert on Wednesday indicated a $250 withdrawal, followed by a $670 transaction. Shortly thereafter, two additional checks were processed—one for $98 and another for $230—bringing the total to close to $1,300.

Upon inspecting her vehicle, the woman noted the absence of her checkbook, although there were no signs of forced entry. The bank provided images of the checks, all made out to an individual named Mason Henrichsen, whom the victim did not know.

Deputies subsequently contacted the valet manager at the resort, who confirmed that Henrichsen was employed at Kidani Village and was scheduled to work on Wednesday night. When Henrichsen reported for his shift, deputies detained him and informed him of his rights, as per the arrest report.

According to investigators, Henrichsen told deputies he “found a check on the parking lot ground and decided to write it out to himself.” Detectives say he admitted to depositing the checks at a Chase Bank branch near Disney Springs.

Court records show Henrichsen is facing two felony charges for forgery and fraud. The sheriff’s office says the case will be forwarded to the Economic Crimes Unit for further review.

Disney has not responded to inquiries about Henrichsen’s employment status.
