Chad Aaron Spodick, known for his appearance on the reality show Finding Prince Charming, has passed away at the age of 42.
The tragic news was announced through a GoFundMe page created by a friend. “We are heartbroken to share the devastating news of the loss of our beloved Chad,” reads a poignant message on the page. “His passing was sudden and has left us struggling to imagine a world without his vibrant presence.”
Kate Werbowski, who set up the GoFundMe, described Chad as an individual who selflessly dedicated himself to others. “Chad was a beacon of support, always uplifting his friends and encouraging them to grow and stand up for themselves,” she wrote. “His deep love for animals was evident, especially in his care for his four dogs and his bird, Cosmo. Chad’s presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him.”
Launched on Thursday, December 4, the fundraiser aims to collect $20,000 to cover funeral costs and ongoing living expenses. By Friday, December 5, contributions had surpassed $12,000.
Spodick is survived by his mother, Felice Harwood, who was listed as the beneficiary on the GoFundMe page.
“Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and help ease some of the weight on his family as they navigate this loss,” the GoFundMe description concluded. “If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us honor Chad’s memory and support the people — and animals — he loved most.”
No further details about his cause of death have been publicly revealed.
Spodick appeared on Logo’s Finding Prince Charming, a reality star hosted by Lance Bass, in 2016. Interior designer Robert Sepúlveda Jr. starred as Prince Charming. A cast of 13 suitors lived in a house together while looking for love with the lead. Spodick left the show during week 6.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Spodick has more than 20 years of experience as a pilot with several airlines. He launched Goldsuite Jets, a luxury charter service in 2020.
Since news of his death broke, several friends and family members have taken to social media with tributes remembering Spodick.
“I’m absolutely heartbroken to find out that my dear friend Chad Spodick passed away yesterday!” one person shared via Threads. “He had just moved to Florida and we just spoke last month! I will miss you terribly! We’ve had so many great memories and I’ll cherish them forever!”
Spodick’s niece left a comment on one of his more recent Instagram posts.
“My beautiful uncle,” she wrote, urging commenters to donate via the GoFundMe page. “Fly high uncle chad love you forever.”
A third tribute, shared via Facebook, praised Spodick — noting that they were solely internet friends.
“Completely shocked. R.I.P. I’ve met so many acquaintances and friends on this site — some of whom I have never met in person but observed from the sides how amazing their lives were,” the friend shared. “Chad S is one such guy. He just celebrated his birthday weeks ago on November 26 and his love of aviation via his work is a gift. Feel sad about his dogs and beloved pet bird. Sending prayers to his loved ones and family.”
