Parent cited for having holstered gun on Fairmont Elementary campus

A parent at Johnson City’s Fairmont Elementary School has received a misdemeanor citation after bringing a holstered firearm onto school grounds, as confirmed by local police and school authorities.

The Johnson City Police Department assured that there was no danger posed to either students or staff during the incident.

In a letter addressed to Fairmont families, it was emphasized that there was no threat involved and that the parent was cooperative throughout the situation.
