Emergency services swiftly responded to an incident on North Terrace in Bankstown around 2:30 p.m. yesterday following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, they discovered a 55-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his torso.
Paramedics provided immediate medical attention at the scene before transporting him to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Shortly after the incident, a 27-year-old man was apprehended and taken into custody at the Bankstown Police Station.
The suspect faces charges for wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public area.
The charged man will front Parramatta Local Court today.
An 18-year-old man was also arrested shortly after the alleged stabbing.
No other charges have been laid.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
