CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — In a strategic shift, tech titan Micron has announced its decision to discontinue sales of consumer computer memory cards, choosing instead to concentrate on the burgeoning AI data center sector. This information was revealed in a recent company press release.

“The expansion of AI-driven data centers has significantly increased the demand for memory and storage solutions,” commented Sumit Sadana, Micron’s Chief Business Officer. “To better serve our larger, strategic clients in these rapidly growing areas, we have made the challenging choice to step away from the consumer market.”
