Students at Milwaukee High School of the Arts were bracing themselves for a sneak peek of a new film when the unexpected happened—Hugh Jackman himself entered their classroom, met by a chorus of astonished screams.

MILWAUKEE — In a delightful twist, actor and singer Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance at a high school choir class on Tuesday to drum up excitement for his latest movie, “Song Sung Blue.”

Initially, the students were eager to catch an early glimpse of the film, but their anticipation swiftly turned to disbelief as Jackman walked in, greeted by gasps and cheers.

“I was in shock, I couldn’t believe it was happening,” a student exclaimed in a video shared by the school. “It was amazing. Being at a public school, we don’t get opportunities like this very often.”

Capturing the magical moment on video, the choir class was initially engaged with a clip of Jackman promising to fulfill their “music dreams.” Midway, he suggested he had a more spectacular plan, leaving students buzzing with excitement, whispering “no way” as they realized the surprise unfolding before them.

Then Jackman entered the room with a guitar to give students high fives and pose for photos.

“Not only did he drop in to cheer them on, but students also had the incredible opportunity to perform ‘From Now On’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’ for the star himself,” the school wrote in a statement. “What a magical day of music, inspiration, and pure joy!”

Jackman was joined by director Craig Brewer to promote their upcoming movie about Milwaukee couple Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed in a Neil Diamond tribute band “Lightning & Thunder.” Jackman stars beside Kate Hudson to play the real-life couple.

“Song Sung Blue” hits theaters Dec. 25.
