In recent years, the collaboration between diverse brands and the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has surged, particularly as the legendary mecha anime celebrates numerous anniversaries. Now, a renowned lifestyle brand is joining the fray by unveiling exclusive new kits that spotlight two of the most iconic Gundam mechas.

During its “Kithmas” event, Kith is introducing a pair of new Gundam model kits. These kits are crafted with Master Grade-level precision and feature a chic, urban-inspired color palette. This year-end event also aligns with the concluding stages of a significant anniversary for one of the celebrated anime series.

As part of its annual Kithmas collection, a celebration that marks the year’s end with unique collaborations across various brands, Kith is launching two Master Grade Gundam model kits. The first offering is the “Kith for GUNPLA MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Version 2.0 Gundam,” inspired by the classic RX-78-2 from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Gundam Fans Can Celebrate a Merry Kithmas With the Newest Master Grade Model Kits

As part of its annual Kithmas collection (which celebrates the end of the year with collaborative items involving all manner of brands), Kith is releasing two new Master Grade Gundam model kits. The first of these is the “Kith for GUNPLA MG 1/100 RX-78-2 Version 2.0 Gundam,” which is based on the classic RX-78-2 from the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime.

Separating this version from other similar kits, however, is the color scheme. This take on the RX-78-2 has a combination of dark and light blue, along with orange, with the colors are inspired by New York. Beyond this, the form is a definite recreation of the classic design, and the kit comes with several iconic weapons. These are a Beam Rifle, a napalm attachment, two Beam Sabers, a bazooka, a Beam Javelin, a sticker and even the infamous Gundam Hammer weapon. It can now be ordered on the Kith website, with the price for the Master Grade listed $99.

The other model kit option from Kith is the “Kith for GUNPLA MG 1/100 Wing Gundam,” which is based on the main mecha from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing. This is specifically based on the TV anime version of this mobile suit, featuring the classic design for the wings instead of the organic wings seen in the OVA movie sequel, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.

It has the same general color scheme as the RX-78-2, albeit with the addition of more white. Along with interchangeable hand parts, the kit also has a Buster Rifle, a Beam Saber, a shield with the Kith branding, a foil seal and a sticker for more detail. However, it doesn’t seem to possess the ability to transform into the Neo-Bird mode.

Both of these kits are now ready to be added to fans’ collections, with the Kith-inspired visuals making them stand out compared to the many other versions of these mecha. It’s also worth noting that 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing, and given that it was the first anime in the franchise to come to the West, it only makes sense that the occasion is getting a New York-themed curtain call.

Other notable entries have also celebrated similar milestones this year, and Gundam as a whole being embraced by a Western lifestyle brand showcases how much it’s grown throughout the 2020s.
