In Jacksonville, a tragic multi-vehicle accident has resulted in one fatality and left two others injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, near the intersection of J Turner Butler Boulevard and Belfort Road.
A 41-year-old woman from Jacksonville was traveling westbound in the middle lane when she lost control of her sedan. As she attempted to brake, her vehicle veered into the right lane, colliding with an SUV. The SUV was driven by a 36-year-old woman, with a 35-year-old man as a passenger.
Tragically, the 36-year-old driver of the SUV succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical care at a hospital. The male passenger sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The woman reportedly lost control of her sedan and swerved into the right lane while braking and crashed into the rear of an SUV, driven by a 36-year-old woman with a 35-year-old man inside.
FHP says the 36-year-old woman died from injuries while receiving treatment in a hospital, while the man received minor injuries. The 41-year-old woman also received serious injuries from the crash.
Troopers say the crash caused the SUV to crash into two other vehicles; however, no one inside them was injured.
