STATESBORO, Ga. — Georgia Power held a community outreach event in Statesboro on Saturday, aiming to assist residents in reducing their electricity costs.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to explore various discounts available through income-based programs and other energy assistance options.

“Many of our customers qualify; it’s just about taking the step to sign up,” explained Joel Hanner, Georgia Power’s area manager for Statesboro.

Event organizers noted an eager turnout, with participants arriving even before the event officially kicked off. Attendees expressed optimism about the potential decrease in their power bills as the winter months set in.

For those unable to attend, Hanner assured that energy assistance can still be accessed online through Georgia Power’s website. Customers can anticipate seeing adjustments in their bills as soon as the next billing cycle.
