The countdown to the Golden Globes has officially begun.
The much-anticipated Golden Globes are set to return, celebrating excellence in both film and television after an eventful year at the box office and on streaming platforms. This year has seen a flurry of Oscar buzz around films such as Ryan Coogler’s vampire thriller Sinners and Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. But before the Oscars take center stage in March, the spotlight will be on the 83rd annual Golden Globes this January to see which films and shows emerge victorious.
In the musical/comedy category, the competition is heating up with releases like Wicked: For Good and Marty Supreme vying for attention. On the television front, nominations are expected for perennial favorites such as Severance, The Pitt, and The Studio.
The nominations will be announced live by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Johnson on December 8th at 8:15 a.m. ET via CBSNews.com. Be sure to check back for the full list of nominees.
For the first time, the Golden Globes will be preceded by a new primetime special, airing on January 8th at 8 p.m. This special, titled Golden Eve, will revisit memorable Golden Globe moments and delve into the legacies of this year’s honorees. Highlights include Sarah Jessica Parker’s receipt of the 2026 Carol Burnett Award and Dame Helen Mirren’s acceptance of the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award.
The 83rd annual Golden Globes will air Sunday, Jan. 11 on CBS, hosted once again by Nikki Glaser who knocked it out of the park last year.
