One dead in Decatur shooting, police investigating as homicide

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Police Department is currently conducting an investigation following the discovery of several spent bullet casings in response to a report of gunfire on Saturday night.

Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of North Woodford Street and East Grand Avenue shortly after 8:40 p.m. A concerned caller had alerted authorities after hearing five gunshots in the area.
