Erika Kirk was overcome with emotion as she spoke about the most heartbreaking aspect of her late husband’s death during a promotional appearance for his last book on Fox News.

At 37, Kirk shared that an unexpected trigger is seeing her husband’s favorite hot sauce while shopping.

She explained to the Fox & Friends hosts that this sight brings back the trauma of his assassination in Utah, which occurred three months ago.

“What really hits me hard is when I’m in the grocery store, and I see his hot sauce and feel compelled to buy it,” Kirk shared on the show, where she was discussing her husband’s final book, ‘Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life.’

“It’s also the little things, like his clothes scattered around,” she continued. “I know that anyone who has gone through a loss can relate to what I’m saying.”

Kirk eventually explained how ‘it’s the small things’ that get to her three months later.

‘It’s the visual of daddy coming home. To the world he was Charlie Kirk, to us he was the love of my life, my children’s dad, I’m so sorry. It’s those little things, he would walk through the door, drop his things, daddy’s home,’ she tearfully explained.

‘He would take his phone, put it in the drawer.’

Her husband, one of the biggest youth leaders in the US, was shot and killed at a Turning Point USA debate at the University of Orem in Utah on September 10. He was 31.

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old in custody for his death, has been charged with aggravated murder.

Kirk has taken over as Turning Point CEO in her late husband’s stead.

He finished what would be his final book only a month before he was assassinated, Kirk said Tuesday.

Host Ainsley Earhardt assured her after she began crying: ‘I cannot million what you are going through, you found the love of your life, the goal for all of us. He was taken so early.’

Kirk penned the foreword for her husband’s book as well, and a passage was flashed on-screen.

‘I knew Charlie so deeply, in a way no one else could. That is why I can say with certainty: these pages are not theory for him, they are testimony. The words you hold in your hand were the convictions he lived that were written on his heart,’ a portion read.

‘Looking back now, I see the book as one of Charlie’s most enduring gifts to the world. He did not know how brief his time on earth would be – none of us did.’

‘But the truths written in the book are not bound by time on earth would be – none of us did – but the truths written in the book are not bound by time. They will outlive us all, as will the legacy of his faith,’ the foreword continued.

Kirk continued to talk up the book’s ‘powerful’ contents when the passage was finished.

She then took the time to remember her husband as she lamented how, in her words, ‘Miscommunication is out of control.’

‘He was so good at communicating and understanding and bridging that gap.

‘And for him, this book was one of those moments where, OK, if you have communication, mixing with people turning off the noise and the chatter and resetting and rehumanizing, putting those together, is a beautiful symphony of how this country can heal.

‘He knew that and wanted to share with everybody,’ Kirk insisted.

On Sean Hannity’s show the night before, Kirk insisted, ‘You can be a non-observing citizen and use this book to change your life.’

At Charlie’s memorial service in September, Kirk said that she forgave Robinson ‘because it’s what Christ did.’

‘The answer to hate is not hate.’

Charlie’s final book came out Tuesday and is available nationwide.
