As the final credits of Loot Season 3, Episode 10, “Hail Mary Time,” fade from the screen, viewers are left teetering on the edge of a cliffhanger, grappling with a pressing question that remains unresolved.
Without giving too much away, the Season 3 finale sees Molly (played by Maya Rudolph), along with Sofia (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster), Arthur (Nat Faxon), Howard (Ron Funches), and Ainsley (Stephanie Styles), unexpectedly gatecrashing a wedding. The episode is filled with the kind of delightful chaos you’d expect from such an ensemble, featuring a stunning surprise guest appearance and a twist that none could have anticipated. While Molly is faced with a pivotal decision, the burning question for viewers is whether Loot will return for another season, and if so, when?
Fans eager to know about a potential Season 4 of Loot might find themselves wondering about the show’s future status with Apple TV. Has the streaming giant made a decision to renew or cancel the series? And if a new season is indeed on the horizon, when can loyal fans expect its premiere? Here’s a look at the current state of Loot and what Season 4 might hold.
Will There Be A Loot Season 4 On Apple TV?
As of December 9, the day the Season 3 finale aired, Apple TV had not yet officially confirmed a renewal for Loot‘s fourth season. However, this shouldn’t necessarily be seen as the final curtain for the comedic series centered around a wealthy, audacious protagonist. Streaming platforms and networks often take their time before announcing a show’s continuation. For instance, Apple TV’s comedy Platonic was renewed for its third season two months after its prior season concluded. The cliffhanger ending of Loot strongly suggests that the creators have further stories to tell and are eager to continue the journey.
Apple TV typically keeps its streaming figures under wraps, making it challenging to gauge the exact performance of Loot Season 3 compared to its predecessors or other comedies on the platform. Yet, with star power like Maya Rudolph at the helm, a return for Season 4 seems well within the realm of possibility. We’ll keep you updated on any developments regarding Loot Season 4. In the meantime, let’s speculate on what the future timeline might look like…
When Does Loot Return With New Episodes On Apple TV? Loot Season 4 Premiere Date:
Since Loot has yet to be officially renewed for Season 4, there’s no Loot Season 4 premiere date on the books yet. As dedicated fans know, however, there was an unexpectedly large gap between Season 1 (2022) and Season 2 (2024) due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, and Season 3 (2025) faced production delays because of Rudolph’s role in Saturday Night Live‘s 2024 election coverage. Barring any other setbacks or scheduling conflicts, if Loot Season 4 was green lit, it’s likely that the series would try to release another season within a year, so fingers crossed fans could potentially get new episodes in 2026. As always, stay tuned for more updates!
What Could Loot Season 4 Look Like?
Naturally, Loot Season 4 would continue to follow Molly and her team at the Wells Foundation as they try to make the world a better place, challenge billionaires, and give away her money for good. But based on the Season 3 finale, we’ll also see Molly’s answer to the life-changing cliffhanger questions, Sofia potentially run for congress, and more personal and professional developments across the core characters.
In a Season 3 interview with Decider, Loot star Ron Funches said he’d love to see another romance in Howard’s future after his breakup with Destiny. “I’m hopeful that in the next seasons — however many we get to go — that we do get to see Howard in a loving, stable relationship and see him build and grow from that. And then maybe Destiny comes back and tries to mess that up,” Funches said with a chuckle, confirming the cast is open to more seasons, too. And here’s hoping we get more incredible guest stars if Loot returns for Season 4.
