A young woman has recounted a disturbing incident involving a suspected serial offender at a Woolworths store in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.

The 20-year-old, who has opted to remain unnamed, alleges that a man linked to several unsettling occurrences in the area harassed her and touched her inappropriately.

“He got uncomfortably close and attempted to poke his finger into my bra, commenting, ‘oh that’s pretty,'” she recounted.

The woman suspects this individual is the same person recently seen on CCTV trailing women and trespassing on properties in the same region.

“It feels unsafe to even shop as a woman now. I’m too frightened to return,” she expressed.

The incident occurred on Monday night at the Playford Woolworths.

Police rushed to the supermarket and arrested a 54-year-old man from Munno Para, who was already on bail.

However, 9News understands the man should not have been at the Woolworths in the first place, with the victim saying he had been banned from the supermarket over his behaviour towards other women.

More vision of the man emerged today; another woman, Kelly, said he helped himself to her backyard on Sunday night.

“It’s getting ridiculous… it’s beyond the point now where people shouldn’t have to take the measures they are taking to be at home,” she said.

She says she reported the incident to police, but was told the man was harmless.

“There’s no way he’s harmless,” Kelly said.
