HEPHZIBAH, Ga. () – Authorities from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are reaching out to the community for assistance in finding a woman they have identified as a suspect.

According to reports, the woman entered the Dollar General store at 2489 Tobacco Road. She was seen wearing a white sweatshirt featuring ‘Snoopy’, paired with loose-fitting blue jeans, a burgundy or red knit hat, and a black medical face mask.

Eyewitnesses informed the police that the woman strolled through the aisles, filling a basket with various food items and beauty products. When she approached the cashier, she pretended to search her pockets and claimed she couldn’t find her phone, leading her to say she needed to “abort, abort”.

The woman briefly exited the store but soon returned, repeating the process of selecting groceries and approaching the register once more.

Once again, she claimed she couldn’t locate her phone, left the checkout area, and walked outside.

The suspect then came back inside a third time after speaking with a customer in the parking lot and asking him to buy some of her groceries.

The customer, who police said probably didn’t know her, paid for a couple of her items.

The subject wandered around the store again, but when she came up to the register the last time, she presented a note to the cashier which read, “Give me $50, don’t press the alarm”.

Police say when the cashier got a $100.00 bill from the register and gave it to the subject, she pulled a small handgun from her left pocket and briefly displayed it.

The cashier stated that he also gave the subject the groceries, after which she ran out the store, heading east from the entrance of the business.

A witness, who was in her car in the parking lot at the time, and saw the subject run behind the
business after the incident, near the air conditioner units.
