Andy Dick slurs words in video weeks before apparent Hollywood overdose

Last month, a video resurfaced showing comedian Andy Dick appearing disoriented and sipping a drink on Hollywood Boulevard—remarkably close to the location of his reported overdose on Tuesday.

The well-known 59-year-old entertainer was captured sitting on the pavement, sporting a “VIP” pass around his neck, and sipping from a cup filled with a clear liquid. In the footage shared on Instagram on November 9, Dick oddly insisted that the popular duo OutKast is fond of him.

“Hey Andy, you’re looking sharp,” commented cameraman Joe Andaloro in the clip.

“I always look sharp, thank you, boy,” Dick replied confidently.

Upon learning that OutKast was being honored nearby, Dick expressed regret at missing the event, reminiscing about his past interactions with the duo during his time at MTV.

“Why didn’t you get me invited?” Dick asked.

“They were right there. Andre and Big Boy,” said Andaloro.

“No! I hope you are kidding me?” Dick fires back. “No, I swear to God,” replied Andaloro.

“I know them! From MTV days. I mean, I’m on the curb now and they’re going into their show. But different ones, different life,” Dick noted.

“You don’t know how much they love me. It’s f—ked up that you guys didn’t tell me,” the comic said.

The video was posted about four weeks before he was captured in compromising photos taken by TMZ during an apparent overdose in Hollywood on Tuesday.

Dick, in the photos, is slouched over with eyes closed, wearing blue plaid pajama pants and a tan jacket. His black framed glasses lie on the cement next to a canned drink.

A bystander called for someone to get Dick Narcan — a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses called Narcan.

A man is seen administering the medication to Dick, who regained consciousness.

First responders arrived but Dick refused additional medical attention.

In the November video, the cameraman ends by saying, “Andy Dick. Was on the ground just hanging out. He seemed better. He seemed ok compared to other times I’ve seen him. He seemed fine. Like fine-ish.”

“I bumped into Andy at a gas station in Encino and he told me he needed a ride to a friend’s house. I let him hop in. He was cool and down to earth,” one commenter on the post wrote.

Dick has had numerous run-ins with the law and is known to be seen intoxicated on the streets of Los Angeles.

The actor was arrested in January 2023 for public intoxication and failing to register as a sex offender.

In 2016, Dick revealed that he had entered drug rehabilitation programs 20 times up to that point.
